GAD-7: anxiety screening

When it helps: When the worry has been loud lately and you want to gauge how loud, or track it across weeks.

When it doesn't: A high score doesn't say what the anxiety is about. That's conversation work, not questionnaire work.

The GAD-7 is the standard short screening questionnaire for anxiety: seven questions, each scored 0 to 3. Like everything here, your answers stay on this page: nothing is sent, nothing is stored. At the end you get a score, the usual reading of that range, and export options that you control entirely.

Seven questions about the last two weeks. Answer for the weeks as they were, not for today's mood.

Over the last 2 weeks, how often have you been bothered by the following problems?

1. Feeling nervous, anxious, or on edge
2. Not being able to stop or control worrying
3. Worrying too much about different things
4. Trouble relaxing
5. Being so restless that it is hard to sit still
6. Becoming easily annoyed or irritable
7. Feeling afraid, as if something awful might happen
